The story centers on a 15-year-old girl named Sasha, who, after her mother’s death, is compelled to move in with her estranged father. In an act of rebellion, she shaves her head and is subsequently mistaken for a boy by local teenagers, leading her into a complex journey of identity and self-discovery.
The design concept captures the essence of Sasha’s internal and external conflicts. The environments reflect the protagonist’s emotional landscape, with settings that transition from the familiarity of her grandfather’s home to the unsettling newness of her father’s residence. This shift is portrayed through contrasting design elements: the warmth and clutter of her initial home versus the stark, impersonal spaces of her father’s apartment.
The urban landscape plays a significant role in Sasha’s transformation. The visuals utilize abandoned buildings, graffiti-laden walls, and desolate streets to mirror Sasha’s feelings of isolation and her quest for belonging. These settings not only ground the narrative in a tangible reality but also serve as a backdrop for Sasha’s exploration of her identity.
